I had no idea that this was an older HT, when I purchased. It was featured a few years ago in J/P's catalog. It has been an oustanding performer in my backyard -- the heat does not bother it. It is very tall, it is taller than me (5ft). It blooms constantly - with large blooms, with huge stems, and a very nice frangrance.
I love that its named for Lady Bird Johnson, and thrives here in my heat of this summer of 2008. One of my favorite roses.
PS - I grow mainly old fashioned roses, so a modern HT has to be a pretty tough cookie - I do not spray for bugs or disease, but do water regularly (and fertilize).
I give LDJ 4 stars! ****.
