I see you have quite a few roses in B'ham. I am in Huntsville and plan on adding some to my garden this year. Do you have a favorite hightly scented rose that has done well for you? I am thinking of getting Frederic Mistral and Memorial Day.

Well, how can I pick just one or two ? I have close to 300 roses so here is a list of some of my favorite fragrant roses. The two you named are great and have also done well for me in Birmingham. Here goes:

Purples to light lavender:
Neptune, Barbra Streisand, Big Purple, Charles de Gaulle, World War II Memorial Rose

Reds to reddish pink:
Velvet Fragrance, Rouge Royal, Mr. Lincoln, Mirandy, Rubaiyat, Veteran's Honor, Geranium Red, Alec's Red

Deep to light pinks:
Amazing Grace, Betty White, Perfume Delight, Magnificent Perfume, Rose Rhapsody, Jadis, Peter Mayle, Buxom Beauty, Yves Piaget

Whites to cream:
Afton, Pope John Paul II, Maria Shriver, Queen Mary II

Yellows to yell. blends:
Sutter's Gold, Lemon Spice, Marco Polo, Amelia Earhart, Centennial Star

Orange-reds:
Dolly Parton, Fragrant Cloud, Polynesian Sunset

Apricots to apr. blends:
Beaute', Jema, Reconciliation, Valencia, Antico Amore, Apricot Silk, Miss Dior, Special Occasion

Bi-colors & blends:
Coronado, Double Delight, Distant Drums, Scentimental

Some of my favorite fragrant English roses:
William Shakespeare 2000, Abraham Darby, Heritage, Fair Bianca(great licorice fragrance)

A good fragrant Tea: Tipsy Imperial Concubine(great citrus fragrance)
And of course an oldie but goodie: Mme. Isaac Pereire
