I know you grow a million roses and thanks for sharing pictures of so many,
I am anxious to know more about Eden Rose. If you can remember it among your many, would you recommend it?

Hi Tim,
To be perfectly honest, this rose has not been a real great one. I bought it from Vintage Gardens as a tiny own-root band 9yrs ago, and it's taken forever for it to get big enough to do much of anything. Being in Zone 9 you'd think the roses would be really happy. But I have a difficult time getting a majority of the own-root babies to take off. Many take 5yrs or more to get established and start growing like grafted ones. This one has taken longer. Not sure why. I don't spray, and only get around to fertilizing maybe once a yr. I think EDEN ROSE has only given me maybe 3 or 4 blooms total since I got it. As you can tell by the pic, it's in a big pot. I imagine once I get it in the ground (one day) it will perform better. You might have better luck than I have. I wouldn't rule it out based on my experience. Different climates and different cultural practices may give better results. It is a pretty rose.

Thanks so much for the info, I have too many to keep on top of. I have a Vintage rootling too and was debating whether it should get a (limited) spot in the ground. I love rose (maria callas) colored roses.
