The earliest description of Adélaide d´Orléans, which is quite detailed and therefor reliable (Prevost 1830, see: References) speaks of a flower of 60-80 petals. The photo shows flowers of less than 40 petals, so that this can not be the original Adélaide.

Uli, I have added a scan from Floral Cabinet Sept1st 1837. A very kind friend loaned me this book with the proviso that I copy what I needed. Pat

The colouring of the engraving was not very successful, but I think the meaning is from deep pink center to lighter pink edges. In any case, it is a very full, imbricated bloom. The AdO at Sangerhausen seems to be true.
