how tall can this rose really grow? most sources claim that it gets about 70 cm, but on this photo it looks as if it was the hight of an average man.

This was the most astounding Léonie Lamesch I ever saw. You are correct, it was more than 1,5 m tall. The 70 cm seems generally correct, but maybe if it has 6 m of fruitful soil underneath, lots of sun and is not pruned, it can develop into this monster!

Ah.......... I only dream of having soil like that. Mine will be planted in a big hole in glacier slurry. If I can only get half of what I see in your photo, I will be delighted.
