Update-I now live in the Texas Hill Country, between San Antonio and Austin on 1/2 an acre. I have very rocky limestone and little soil so most of my roses are grown in containers. I grow approx. 100 roses, gardenias, irises, various flowers, tomatoes, herbs and oak trees! I battle chili thrips in the summers.


I live 3 miles from the beach in Ventura, CA. I have a somewhat cool, coastal environment but with micro-climates, especially in my backyard where most of my roses reside. I have over 100 roses, mostly OGR's, David Austin’s, HT's and companion plants. I also grow herbs, garlic, tomatoes and a few other veggies... Lemon, lime, orange and peach trees are in my garden as well as tropical palms and plants. I garden organically and have several compost piles going in black landscape pots...Many of my roses are grown in containers.
