Gunby Estate Gardens is a National Trust property located near Splisby in Lincolnshire around 120 miles from London. Numerous gardens surround the country house from a formal front garden to the East Lawn with dual beds of Mrs Oakley Fisher and Etoile de Hollande. In the main garden one will find a collection of hybrid musk roses including six of Joseph Pemberton’s roses. Gardens include both heritage and modern roses with clear labelling in the main. The Pergola bisects the walled garden creating beds for roses, a yellow border, herbaceous and cutting border. The kitchen gardens which includes a range of heritage fruit tree is well worth the inspection.. On the walls of the courtyard a number of climbers and ramblers provide a great display in the flowering season. A number of rare roses can be found in the gardens. The hall is also open to visitors, but advance booking of a car park space is essential during the busy summer period. Gunby estate is a hidden gem for locals and visitors to the UK.
