USDA Zone: 5b (-15 to -10 F / -26.1 - 23.4 C)
New home (2022) and developing garden on over two rolling, partially wooded acres in the beautiful South Michigan countryside. Within sight of North Sand Lake.
Beds must be cut and added.
Soil ranges from loamy clay to nearly pure sand.
Z5b South Central Michigan/Sunset 41.
Some so-called authorities have changed my USDA zone to 6a in the interest of pushing the Climate Change Agenda, but die-back of rose canes, average extreme annual lows (have seen -20°F within the last ten years), frost burned peach blossoms, and snow on Mother's Day as recently as 2020 say otherwise. I'm Z5b.
Many noxious, foreign invasive species are in need of removal: Rosa multiflora, common buckthorn, garlic mustard, English Ivy, Japanese honeysuckle, and Oriental bittersweet.
New native Eastern White Pines have been added to thicken my northern windbreak.

Garden roses added so far:

-Bathsheba (Austin)
-Blanc Double de Coubert (Cochet-Cochet)
-Maigold (Kordes)

Potted varieties of roses:

-Lady Emma Hamilton (Austin)
-Mrs. Sam McGredy (McGredy)
