[From A Book of Gardening: Ideas, Designs, Methods, by Penelope Hobhouse, p. 133:] At Acorn Bank a border against a south-east wall has been planted with mixed shrub roses, among which foxgloves are encouraged to seed. Single-flowered Rugosas usually have freely carried hips, so this border is colourful in autumn.
