In 1975, Gian Lupo Osti began dedicated himself to botanical research. In particular he travelled to the mountains of China and rediscovered tree peonies not seen by Western eyes since the early 1900s. He has also devoted time to finding herbaceous peonies that grow wild in the Mediterranean region.
