Stephan Olbrich (1854-1932), Director (1884-1904) of the Froebel nursery in Zürich, Switzerland [From Rosa Helvetica, 1986, p. 45:] ...the second rose book issued in Switzerland: Stephan Olbrich: "Der Rose Zucht und Pflege", Eugen Ulmer Verlag, Stuttgart, 1912 (2.edition), (1925 3.edition). The author, Stephan Olbrich, a German, was director of the Fröbel nursery in Zürich (Hirslanden). Olbrich can be seen as an excellent Dendrologue and horticultural author for his time. His books...had various editions....Olbrich also wrote a small rose book issued anonymously in Switzerland, "Die Rose ihre praktische Anzucht, Pflanzung und Pflege"...Verlag "Schweizer Pflanzenfreund", Rüti Zürich 1913.
