Gardener and Inspector of the Botanic Garden of Hamburg [From L'Illustration Horticole, February 1882, p. 24:] Édouard Otto. the indefatigable editor of the Garten und Blumenzeitung of Hamburg has been the object of a well-merited distinction. Last January 28, on the occasion of his 70th birthday, a delegation of the Hamburg Horticultural society went to him to offer him a large gold medal in recognition of the services he rendered to the Society in his quality of librarian.
