R. multiflora var. cathayensis group.... 'Yu E Fen Tuan' ("Pink cluster with feather-like sepal margins") The flowers are larger than the others in the group, double, and pink. The sepal edges are fringed or ciliate. I collected this rose in Kunming, Yunnan.

'Zi Hua Fen Tuan' ("Pink cluster with purple flowers") The double flowers are purple, and the leaves are light green. A vigorous grower, it is used for hedgerows in Nanjing.

'Zi Hua Yue Yue Hong' ("Monthly red China with purpleish flowers") Collected in Tengchong, Yunnan, this rose has leaves that are larger than the other roses in the group and slightly soft. The slender stems lack glandular hairs, the bracts are small and opposite, and the calyx is not lobed. The petal color is a pale purple, and the petals have wavy edges, a common feature of roses depicted in ancient Chinese paintings.
