Rose Breeder

I am new to rose breeding and currently just making experiments with pollinating some of my interesting roses and raising the resulting seedlings to see what I get. The longtime goal would be to breed robust, carefree, vigorous climbers that are scented, and, if possible, thornless. Roses to adorn the public green without scarring passers-by, and for the sake of limited space in parks, growing upward instead of sideways. Maybe that's a ridiculous goal but what the heck, it's my hobby, and so I get to define my goals myself.
