W. E. Chaplin (1851 - ?) Henry Jones Chaplin Joyning's Nursery, Waltham Cross in 1916. Successors to W. Paul & Son, Waltham Cross, by 1924.
[From A Rose Odyssey, p. 117:] The Paul firms have been succeeded by Chaplin Brothers, composed of W. E. Chaplin and his seven sons. W. E. Chaplin is a great character. Eighty five years old (in 1936), he is hale and hearty and the actual head of the firm, ruling his seven sons like a Dickens' character.
