Many people are familiar with Sean McCann through his often humorous, definitely informative and sometimes poignant, columns in the magazines of the American Rose Society and the Royal National Rose Society.
[From Playing at Creation, pp. 96-97, McCann himself says:] I know that if tomorrow I was given the chance I would be more pleased to raise one good exhibition rose than half a dozen floribundas. Indeed, above all else I would be more thrilled with the creation of an exhibiton rose than anything else.
