[From Modern Roses 10, p. 738:] L. Weigand, Bad Soden am Taunus, Germany

[From Die Gartenwelt, 1937, p. 44:] 100 Years Weigand - Bad Soden...Founded by Adam Weigand, who died 1851, the nursery passed on to his son Christoph and after the latter's death in 1909 to the grandson, the owner Ludwig Weigand who is now 63 years old.

[From Climbing Roses of the World, by Charles Quest-Ritson, 2003, p. 177:] Christoph Weigand (1839-1909) is credited with introducing the first German Wichurana Hybrid, 'Ernst Grandpierre', in 1900, but all the Weigand hybrids were bred by his son Ludwig (b. 1873). In addition to his climbers, Ludwig Weigand also introduced one of the last Hybrid Perpetuals, the splendid 'Ruhm von Steinfurth'.
