Myron D. Bigger (June 13, 1902 - November 10, 1996 Topeka), nurseryman, President of the APS (1958-9), author of "The Peonies" (1962). [From Peonies, by Allan Rogers, pp. 18-19:] Myron Bigger (b. 1902) of Topeka, Kansas... At its peak, his nursery was growing eight acres of peonies with a harvest of 72,000-84,222 flowers each year... [From "BIOH: Biographies in Ornamental Horticulture", by Laurence C. Hatch, 1999:] Bigger, Myron D. - Kansas breeder of numerous peonies. In 1947, 'Blanche King' wan him Best of Show - Grand Champion with the American Peony Society. His 'Myron D. Bigger' (1966) remains one of the best late, white doubles. His 1979 'Capital Dome', a Bomb Type white double, midseason, light scented, 34 inches from P. lactiflora is still sold.
