George Robert Knight (1879 to 1961) was the son of George William Knight.
Aged 18 George Robert Knight started his own nursery which later became known as George Knight & Sons at Parramatta Road, Homebush. The nursery eventually also had 40 acres of land in Meurants Lane Parklea; 10 Acres of land in Greenwood Road Kellyville; and 10 Acres of land in Old Windsor Road Parklea. George Robert Knight had three sons. They were
George John Knight Known as Jack he was the eldest
Jack Knight worked in the nursery for a period of time. Jack then left the nursery and went to work for Blacktown Council , He was there till he retired.
Henry Frederick Knight Known as Ned he was the second eldest
Ned Knight and Ned’s son, Bruce Robert Knight used to dig the bushes and work around the three nurseries and would transport the rose bushes to Bill at Homebush to sell. He retired in approximately 1974
Clifford Robert Knight Known as Bill he was the youngest
Bill Knight worked and sold roses from the nursery at Homebush. He also retired in approximately 1974. Refer to Australian Rose Annual 1968 p113 for his photo and his T. A. Stewart Memorial Award, 1967.
