ROSEN (alim PERSSON),, Lars (Archie) (1862-1951), nursery proprietor, was born at Bjarsjolagard, Skane, Sweden.... after working in English nurseries he set out in 1890 to migrate to New Zealand, but having lost his passage money gambling on board ship was forced to stay in Australia and seek employment. Persson adopted the surname Rosen....in 1901 he established the Fernhill nursery at Carlingford....Rosen was especially interested in advances in technology and marketing and used his expertise in these to develop a long and successful business.
