Is Polywon in a public garden? It would be nice to list the garden, as the rose was formerly marked as "Existence unknown.

Yes, it is in the Heritage Rose Garden at the Forestry Farm Park and Zoo in Saskatoon. SK, Canada. The Garden was developed in 2004 (I think), I'll have to get a list of all the varieties and post the info on here somewhere. Thanks for your comments! Koren

<mapping> Gee, that's even further north than Brooks. Is it colder?
If you get a rose list, I'll list the garden on HMF.

It might be a little colder, just because we don't get chinooks like they do in Alberta. We average 117 frost free days, and our average minimum temps for Jan and Feb are -22.3 and -18.2 degrees C respectively, we had a doozy of a winter this years with temps in the - 30's and 40's for days and weeks on end. Yuck! Saskatoon is about a zone 3, although geographically we fall into a zone 2b. Microclimates considered and with snowcover in the city we can often pull off a zone 4 if there's protection from the wind.....I'll try to get a rose list together. We actually have 2 gardens in town, the other is the Patterson Gardens at the U of S. It has lots of old rarer roses too, and was established in the 60's. Koren

Excellent, Koren. I don't know many rose gardens in Zone 2b, so this is a very informative addition to HMF.

Hi! I'd like to update the rose list and add to the Patterson Garden listing in Saskatoon, SK Canada. Also, how do I add a rose that isn't already in the database? I'm really enjoying this site, thanks so much for maintaining it, it really must be loads of work! Thanks! Koren Vangool

Another excellent photo! That looks like a very large shrub. Is it 6 feet wide? How high? Once blooming?

So far it's about 7 or so feet across, but only about 4 feet high. I do believe it's once blooming, but over a fairly long time (several weeks). The imperfect bloom form is quite distinctive. Thanks, Koren
