Although I've been growing roses for a few years now, I feel that I am still just a babe in the woods. I've had several great successes with miniatures, florabundas, hybrid teas, and others, but I've also had a few crashing failures. I like to experiment, which makes for a very expensive hobby. I've made attempts to grow several very hearty roses in containers, leaving them outside with little protection in my zone 6B winters, with mixed results. I definitely learn a lot and I'm still learning.
As for general gardening, I would be considered by most to be experienced to very experienced, and very successful. But I'm still a novice with peonies and clemantis.
