I am a 'dirt lawyer' (real estate) who practices law as a way to support my playtime in the garden -- that's an exaggeration, but not too much of one. I come from a line of Iowa farmers, but don't have the time to devote to growing food (which I feel guilty for not properly tending and harvesting), but find flowers to be freeing and a source of delight even if I can't spend the time and effort that would serve them best. The world is lovelier because of them. That feels wonderful.
