My house as seen with roses at the end of June 2009. The house which is more than 200 years old and typical of the area has the traditional white colour and appearance of thousands of old houses along the southern coast of Norway. And what could possibly become a dear old stormridden house like this more than lots of roses. I think it deserves that. There should also be a few clematises there, for the moment only small and without flowers; and a few still invisible hollyhocks at each side of the entrance. Roses to be seen are "Coral Dawn, F.J. Grootendors,Louise Odier, Rosenresli,Felicia, Mainaufeuer, Charles Austin and perhaps a few red roses of Santana and Sympathie in the background. The blue flowers are Lavenders.The two Fairies by the entrance are still not in bloom.

This rose is growing at Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont. The artist Gari Melchers and his wife Corinne grew it in their garden in Holland during the late nineteenth/early twentieth century.
