rose dabbler
United States
I have gardened (vegetables, flowers) for more than thirty years, but my experience with roses is limited to the past ten years. I have grown very few roses, as my current yard is is quite small. I have fallen in love with roses, though, especially climbing ones, and spend countless hours researching them. I hope to smother my little Victorian house with climbers, and create a semi-wild cottage paradise (with animal topiary, lavender, hollyhocks, herbs, vegetables, reseeding annuals, natives, etc., in a glorious stew.) I prefer old roses and the new, reblooming ones with an old rose look. I like a variety of bloom forms (from very full to single) but I am not as fond of the very pointed, structured look of some modern hybrids.
