This is a rose I purchased from Reliable Roses as Anais Segalas. I noted that they also were selling Belle de Crecy and I wanted to purchase it so I could compare both but they were sold out.

First year planted - Blue Mountains Australia. Very happy with this rose so far, so beautiful and healthy and it just keeps on flowering!

December 2019. NSW, Australia. First year planted bareroot in very acidic soil (pH 4.5) with a little lime my 3 LoS plants are very healthy and pumping out a succession of flower clusters, despite the drought and hot early summer. Leaves have tiny brown spots so possibly a bit deficient in something from the acidity. The flowers glow in afternoon light- very bright at first but then mellow to a more refined peach. Has a lovely (myrrh?) scent that is more apparent in the evening to me. I only wish the plant was a bit more compact but hopefully it will mature to a better shape. I have planted 3 next to each other in the hope that they will support each other - but perhaps she will be a good subject for pegging?

I have very acidic sandy soil (4.5). I have added some lime but Jude the Obscure actually seems to tolerate it better than some of my other roses so far. Scent knocks your socks off - something like lychees and white wine- very delicious. December 2019, NSW, Australia.
