That's 'American Pillar' in the background. I think the coloring looks a little wonky in this photo. In person it's a clearer pink. Thank you! :)

Isn't this rose too bright pink for Erinnerung an Brod, And the form of the flower doesn't match in my opinion.
It would rather suit the rose as it is sold for?

This is Erinnerung An Brod - not SDAL. Sadly more than half of all the SDAL sold are Erinnerung An Brod

Oh crumbs. I had a feeling something was "off" about this rose. I also purchased a banded 'Souvenir du Docteur Jamain' which I wanted to compare to my SDAL since there seems to be some confusion with those two roses as well. What a mess! Anyways, thanks for the heads up. I'll take this photo down in a couple of days--just to give some time for people to read this and become aware of the discrepancy for future reference.

But as for the rose it's not a bad mixing up. Erinnerung an Brod is a healthy rose that can bear frosts and smells heavenly. It blooms for about 6 weeks.
But if You expect another rose, it's a disappointment.

Yes Erinnerung an brod is a good rose - interesting color and nice climber.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news that you got a mix up - getting the real SDAL is very hard - and stocks of Erinnerung an Brod/SDAL/ and Souvenir du Docteur Jamain' and other red Hps keeps happening all the times at European nurseries. I have studied this rose for over 10 years and seen many imposters - even a big rose nursery had the real SDAL growing in their display garden and I ordered 10 plants from them - and they sent 10 Fisher Holmes ...I have provided nurseries with Budwood from My SDAL - and even that got mixed up with Old stocks of Erinnerung an Brod. It has taken many years now to get my SDAL clone to USA - still hoping that one day it will make it. Souvenir du Docteur Jamain is a good substitute , but rebloom is more sparse than SDAL - and the flowers not so fullly double.
