Bloom:
White or white blend. Moderate fragrance. 26 to 30 petals. Average diameter 4". Full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, high-centered, reflexed bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Long, pointed, ovoid buds.
Habit:
Upright, well-branched. Large, dark green, dense, leathery foliage.
Height: 4' to 5' (120 to 150cm). Width: up to 4' (up to 120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer. Can be used for cut flower or garden. Vigorous. Disease susceptibility: very rust resistant. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) . Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection).
Notes:
A gardener in Seattle writes: Just a quick warning... we live in Seattle and purchased 'Grand Finale' a couple years ago. The blooms were not white. They were GREEN. A very, sickly green color. Perhaps it had something to do with the cool Seattle climate... at any rate, maybe this isn't the best pick for cooler climates.
