It is not listed under cuttings because it's a patented plant. It is illegal to exchange patented plant material. Please remove your post regarding this plant.

Are you sure? US Patent 3962 was issued in 1976 and US patents expire after at most 20 years (according to the Wikipedia article about such things).

I live in North Texas and we have very hot summers. I have 2 Red Cascades. The one that gets afternoon shade is beautiful, blooms all summer in flushes and is very healthy. Another poor plant is in full afternoon sun, up against a wooden fence. Every summer is fries. I always think that it surely won't make it through this summer. However, in the fall it gets better and by next spring it is covered with flowers until it gets really hot. I think in a hot climate I would recommend some afternoon shade for Red Cascade. Betsy

You can drape this rose--on a fence or a wall or a pillar. In fact, it DEMANDS to be draped, or swagged, or braided through something. Otherwise it gets lanky and messy and unless you have unlimited space, grows out of bounds. But the canes are plentiful and pliable, so if you take the time to direct it, you can do alot of neat things with it! It's very durable and doesn't need coddling either--a nice attribute in a rose.

In breeding this rose the breeder first crossed a wichuranna with a (chestnut rose x musk rose) cross. He then crossed the resulting rose with another cross I am constrained to put below.
A different (chestnut rose x musk rose) cross crossed in turn with a wichuranna and then that resulting mess crossed with-
a (chestnut rose x musk rose) cross that was then crossed with a miniature.
Sounds almost depraved but recognizing the strength of the Rose 'Sea Foam' that was crossed back with its parents 4 or 5 times it would seem to be a recipe for success.
