Does General Stefanik take a long time to get established? This will be my third season with it. Extremely hardy, healthy and vigorous. Still waiting for it to flower. Cannot wait!

Dear MLG, in our area GŠ does not need extra time to establish. Blooms well in first or second year (latest). Blooms only once a season.

Jan Böhm in his book : 20 let československých růží, Blatná, 1938, (absence a more detailed description) is writing:
´Generál Štefánik´ (Jan Böhm, 1932, from the rose´Brilliant´- it´s not clear if is sport or seedling ?) - blue-violet flower color, sometimes changing into purple. Color similar to 'Veilchenblau' and 'Schloss Friedenstein'. It is not rose-like shape today's modern roses, not a rose, which from spring to summer is still blooming... ...over a very hot summer flowers are quite blue-violet... ...is quite resistant to diseases and frost-resistant fully... His whole character reminds old cabbage roses, a flower is well endowed with this particular scent. Recommends it be planted as a solitaire. Arguments that the ´G. S´ has been ´Reine des Violetes´demonstrated planted of both of roses side by side in his garden-business.

Vladimir, do I understand you correctly?
Böhm produced this wonderful rose.
Did Böhm say that it's not clear if it is a sport or a seedling? Or is that your comment from reading his description.
And did Böhm plant Gen. Stefánik side by side with Reine des Violettes to establish that they are different?
The health of the foliage appears excellent, if the photos are accurate and if the plants are not sprayed with fungicides.

Cass,
Yes, Böhm produced this and many other roses.
No, it´s my comment.
Yes, and to overcome doubts about the existence of his blue rose.
Thank you for questions! Best wishes, Vladimir
