Thank you for the information and the link. Florist's roses are rather a stepchild, as they are difficult to purchase by non-rofessionals and information is limited outside the florist/nursery circles. We actually had two entries to 'Grand Prix' with the breeder as Select Roses, which seems now to be Terra Nigra. Both entries have now been combined.

Thank you jedmar!

I would although additionaly mention the actual companies name 'Terra Nigra', as if someone wants to cite or investigate newer infos on that rose, the name 'Select rose' will not be a helpful hint.

For example here they write the following (and no one would find this info under the search item 'Select roses', but only under the item 'Terra Nigra'):

http://www.expoflowers.ru/flowers2009/en/1192.html

"The Dutch company Terra Nigra BV specializes in the breeding of gerbera’s and cut roses. In the Netherlands the company also owns a lab to propagate gerbera young plants and cooperates with two labs abroad for this same activity.
In the Netherlands Terra Nigra takes care of growing gerbera and rose young plants and owns test and show greenhouses as well as distribution department.
In the United States has established a sales department which is responsible for the U.S.A.- South America and India. In Kenya breeds, test, and shows their varieties to growers and also manages a sales office.
Terra Nigra is famous as innovater of gerbera flowers and was the first company to introduce the germini. In roses is Terra Nigra marktleader in Holland with his red cultivar Grand Prix. More information on the company and its products can be found on www.terranigra.com "

Grx!
