Bloom:
Orange or orange-red. Salmon-orange. Copper-vermilion. Mild fragrance. 15 to 23 petals. Average diameter 3". In small clusters bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit:
Tall, spreading, upright. Glossy foliage.
Height: 5' to 5½' (150 to 165cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer. Very vigorous. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

Named to commemorate Mary Sumner (1828 – 1921), the founder of the Mothers' Union, a worldwide Anglican women's organisation.
According to the New Zealand Plant Variety Rights (PVR) web page, application for a PVR Grant for this rose was made in 1976 and granted in 1977 (PVR Grant No. 11). This PVR Grant was surrendered in 1982.
The Little Darling x Goldilocks in the pollen parent was possibly Morey's 1960 'Never' which was (Little Darling x Goldilocks). Verification is needed.
