Origin:
Bred by Derek Irvine (New Zealand, before 2001).
Introduced in New Zealand by Southern Charm Paeonies in 2001 as 'Bright Eyes'.
Class:
Hybrid Lutea, Tree peony.  
Bloom:
Yellow, orange-red flares.  Broad, rounded, notched petals; gold stamens surrounding yellowish-green carpels.  Single to semi-double bloom form.

Notes:
Seed purchased from 1986 onwards and grown from Bill Seidl by Derek Irvine, Timaru, NZ. Registered 2001 by Jane and Trevor Sutherland of Southern Charm Peonies, NZ, as 'Bright Eyes'. Named changed in 2002 to 'Southland Belle' due to duplication.
