When Baroness Schroeder went up to $5 a root a gentleman immediately ordered twelve, and was cut down to six, for which he paid $30, and he got a bargain at that, for with care the six will make 6,000 in ten years.

Baroness Schroeder. Origin unknown. Sent out by Kelway. Taken all around, this is one of the finest in existence. You may pick three flowers and one of them will have a delicate and lingering reflex of gold in the center. The next may have a creamy center, and the next a pinkish glow. The whole flower delicate, baby pink, fading to purest white. It is well formed and ethereally beautiful. The first sent out by Kelway were genuine, and there are quite a number in America. When the demand grew Kelway appears to have sent out three different sorts under that name, and some French dealers have also sent some spurious ones. This scores all the points of excellence. It is a prolific bloomer, deliciously fragrant, and a remarkably rapid multiplier. We have cut four fine roots from one in a single year. It sells readily at $5.00 a root, and is a fine investment at that.
