Hybrid Kordesii, Shrub.   (Series: Explorer Series Collection)  

Scarlet, yellow stamens.  Mild fragrance.  30 petals.  Very double bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  

Armed with thorns / prickles, spreading.  Bronze-green foliage.  

Height: 3' to 4' (90 to 120cm).  Width: 3' to 4' (90 to 120cm).

USDA zone 3b and warmer.  Hardy.  benefits from winter protection in colder climates.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot , susceptible to Mildew.  

Tetraploid

Explorer Samuel de Champlain is known as the Father of New France. He was born in Grouage, France, in 1567. In 1608, Champlain founded a settlement in Quebec, Canada, and died there on Christmas Day 1635.
