Carmine-red, crimson highlights.  Moderate fragrance.  30 petals.  Very large, very double, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long sepals, long, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Climbing, few or no prickles/thorns.  5 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for cut flower.  Vigorous.

Notes:
His Majesty, Gustave, King of Sweden by birth but rosarian by choice, offered a cash premium for an everblooming Rose that would resist the bleak winters of the land of the midnight sun.


Gustaf V (1858-1950) became king in 1907 upon the death of his father. His motto was: With the people for the land of our fathers.
