Bred by Hans Jürgen Evers (1940-2007) (Germany, 1997).
Introduced in Germany by Rosen-Tantau/Tantau Roses in 2001 as 'Astrid Gräfin von Hardenberg'.
Introduced in Australia by Knight's Roses in 2012 as 'Black Caviar'.
Class:
Shrub.  
Bloom:
Purple, purple shading, lighter center. .  Deep burgundy / claret red.  Strong, honey, lemon, vanilla fragrance.  up to 50 petals.  Average diameter 4".  Large, very full (41+ petals), cupped, old-fashioned, quartered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Arching, bushy, lax.  Dark green foliage.  

Height: 47" to 4'11" (120 to 150cm).  Width: 16" (40cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for garden.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.
