Discovered by Mathias Leenders (1883 - 1958) (Netherlands, 1932).
Introduced in France by Croibier & fils in 1933 as 'Mevrouw van Straaten van Nes'.
Introduced in Germany by W. Kordes' Söhne (Retail) in 1934 as 'Duchess of Windsor'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1935 as 'Mevrouw van Straaten van Nes'.

Floribunda.  

Carmine-red.  Moderate fragrance.  Large, single to semi-double, in large clusters, open, ruffled bloom form.  Continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season.  

Bushy, mounded, upright.  

Height: 30" to 5' (75 to 150cm).  Width: 3' to 4' (90 to 120cm).

USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
