"Fake Perle" rose Description

Bloom:
Strong clear yellow, deeper near nub, edges fading slightly paler. Strong, tea fragrance. Full (26-40 petals) bloom form.
Habit:
Medium, spreading.
Height: 4'11" to 6'7" (150 to 200cm). Width: 4'11" to 6'7" (150 to 200cm).
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
May be the same as the California "Giannini Tea".
New foliage: deep burgundy.
Possibilities ‘Medea’ (tea, Paul, 1891) ‘Harry Kirk' 1907 'Marquise de Sinety' 1906. The bloom colour doesn't quite match, but the "beetroot" foliage certainly does. 'Miss Alice de Rothschild 1910. 'Duchesse de Bragance' 1886. Seedling of 'Coquette de Lyon'. Illustration shows ranunculus form.
Discarded identifications Not 'Jean Pernet' 1867. Too thorny. Not 'Coquette de Lyon' 1870. Said to be small to medium bloom, ranunculus form. Not 'Mrs. James Wilson' 1889. Said to have pink edges. Not 'Alliance Franco-Russe' 1899. Has a salmon centre.
