['Lady Sackville'] was first exhibited by McGredy's in 1921... Slow to propagate, it was not offered for sale until 1930, and from then was known as 'Night'. In its day it was the deepest, most sumptuous of all crimson-black roses and its velvety tones would have appealed to Vita. Sadly, though still available in American nurseries, it is no longer grown in Britain.
