Der König errötete… well he’s a bit darker in vivo despite CC but has reddened maybe due to woodash, several organic fertilisers etc. or maybe just time. I’m happy with him now, hopefully he won’t hatch the idea to purple up again.

I guess it’s his genius. The scent is underwhelming if one of those many flowers release it. I did not plant that thing ten years ago, but he doesn't mind being a bit higher. I shouldn’t be bothered as I am about those almost obscenely blooming scentless roses like ‘The Fairy’ too. In my own garden they would be shovel pruned right away. But this specific one has some sentimental value too, so he might bloom and enjoy the sun in the future. Oh and he’s a tad bit lighter in vivo.
