Bred by Herbert C. Swim (United States, 1954).
Introduced in United States by Armstrong Nursery as 'Roundelay'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1961 as 'Roundelay'.
Class:
Grandiflora, Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Moderate, tea, violets fragrance.  38 petals.  Average diameter 3.5".  Medium-large, full (26-40 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters, high-centered bloom form.  Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Ovoid buds.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  Glossy, dark green, leathery foliage.  

Height: 39" to 4' (100 to 120cm).  Width: up to 3' (up to 90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Very vigorous.
