p127. T. G. Stewart, Box Bill, Victoria: 'Ma Perkins' has excellent growth and plenty of blooms of a soft pastel pink colouring. I would like to see better form in the individual blooms and the pale pink colouring seems somewhat insipid to me. If it grows well and is very free flowerng it may possibly make up for the above-mentioned defects. I realise, of course, they may not be considered defects by others.

p145. K. Trevallion. NSW: 'Ma Perkins'. (H. Poly): Very good. Growth good, flower trusses of only three or four with me but very attractive.

Proof of the Pudding.
Ma Perkins   average height 30"......often spotty...flowers look like camellias...inclined to bloom one to a stem...
Book  (1954)  Page(s) 93.

C. H. Isaac, Victoria: 'Ma Perkins'. The 1953 winner of the All America Award, this rose is in the same category as 'Vogue' (AARS winner 1952) and 'Fashion' (AARS winner 1950). The beautifully formed buds of deep salmon pink with a dash of gold and a flush of red open to sparkling double blooms two and a half to three inches across. The flower finishes a soft coral pink – warm and attractive till the last petal drops.
Book  (1954)  Page(s) 17.

Harry H. Hazlewood. The New Roses of 1954. Hybrid Polyantha. Ma Perkins (Boerner, 1952). Richly fragrant, soft salmon flesh pink shading lighter at the edges. The foliage is glossy and healthy while the growth is rather taller than ‘Fashion’. A.A.R.S., 1953 and N.R.S. Trial Ground Certificate. A very beautiful variety.
Book  (1954)  Page(s) 69.

C. V. Covell, California. 'Ma Perkins' was shown excellently. It is similar to 'Poulsen's Bedder', which I prefer because the 1953 A.A.R.S. winner blotches badly a la 'Pinocchio' as the bloom ages
