Is this rose a weak grower for anyone else? I'm in Zone 6a. Mine is in it's second year and shows no signs of putting out any canes.

ETA - It succumbed to a spring cold spell. Not freezing weather but high 30s nights. It didn't like my garden, I don't think it liked me either.

Ive accidently re-created a healthy, hardy version of a rose like this, that is tan and salmon blend. It is bred from Salita, so I was fairly shocked.

Does it have a listing?

Sadly, no. The repeat is poor. It is now a pollen parent for future attempts.

Oh. Market it as a exotic OGR! Salita bred some other similar roses once or twice in the f2, but I don't remember the names

I think the problem is that the seedling is 1/4 New Dawn, which can produce these huge climbers that only bloom on 2nd year climbing wood in the spring and autumn. The flowers were very HT-like, of that haunting parchment tone. I used the pollen on Stormy Weather last season, but it was too hot and they aborted. A fellow breeder sent me a dwarf floribunda in the russet and purple tones, and it sets hips easily, so that will be next year's attempts, as it is in a much cooler spot.

New Dawn tends to do that, being a sport- incomplete transfer?. I wish roses will sport to repeating more often.
The parchment tone is to my eye quite attractive. Is it healthy(er)?

Its healthy, yes. Vigorous (too vigorous) and healthy. It escaped the curse of mauve and russet roses, for their lack of health. I considered crossing it to Koko Loco, but I gave up working with roses like that. The results are often depressing, lol. Even Neptune had depressing results. I may consider crossing it to Singin' in the Rain, if I can find pollen from it, or I may use its more resistant seedlings, like Yellow Submarine.

Is this rose have reddish canes? I bought similar one from La Sumida nursery, Santa Barbara. Unknown name, very mature bush from leftovers mix lot. I have koko loco and honey dijon, it's more smaller bloom and more tan chocolate color. Don't see climbing character yet but more bushy with many growths.

It alos appears that Vintage Gardens is now supplying this rose as well. They have it under the the name JACTan because they also have the Hybrid Tea Butterscotch available as well.
