Bred by François Marest (France, 1858).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1863 as 'Comtesse Cécile de Chabrillant'.

Bloom:
Light or rich lilac pink, silvery highlights.  Strong fragrance.  Average diameter 2.5".  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, dense.  Light green foliage.  

Height: 47" to 7' (120 to 215cm).  Width: 3' (90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Hardy.  very vigorous.
