We are grateful to the many members who have signed up so far, but the number of premium-membership members remains too small for us to sustain the current support and development level. If you value HelpMeFind and want to see it continue we need your support too.

Yearly membership is only $2.00 per month and adds a host of additional features, and numerous planned enhancements, to take full advantage of the power and convenience of HelpMeFind. Click here to start your premium membership..

We of course also welcome donations of any amount. Click here to make a donation. Donations of $24 or more receive a thank-you gift of a 1-year premium membership.

Twelve Good Yellow Tea Roses.
Yellow in Tea Roses seems to be the popular colour, in addition to which the plants are, as a rule, of stronger constitution than those bearing mixed coloured flowers. More yellow than mixed coloured Teas by far appear in florists' windows, and in going through any large market grower's establishment one cannot but be struck with the predominance of yellow varieties. I am not depreciating the many beautiful forms other than yellow; I admire them as much as anyone; but for the guidance of those who, as producers, are obliged to study fashion in flowers, I give a list of varieties which will be found to give satisfaction either for growing in pots or for planting out in borders in ordinary Rose houses.
Amazone is a capital Rose, and having rather elongated buds, will be found most useful for bouquet work when half expanded.

Tea. Amazone (Ducher 1872). This variety is the only one from the group of mottled yellow varieties which can be recommended, as its colours are quite pure and the blooms are finely formed.

Garden Flora, DWARF YELLOW TEA ROSES.
Amazone is a lovely yellow Rose sent out in 1872 by Ducher. It, too, has the reputation of being delicate, but in the border where Jean Pernet always did so well this kind was not less beautiful, always growing strong and flowering freely. It has a very long, handsome bud, which opens into a fine flower, usually of a clear lemon-yellow, but sometimes veined and suffused with rose externally.

Teas and Noisettes.
Amazone (Ducher, 1872). — Of rather poor slender growth, with long pointed buds of a good deep yellow, a colour which is still much wanted in this class. Some of the Teas are only valued in the bud state, for cutting and market purposes, and those that have long slender buds are much more suitable and graceful for decoration and wreaths than the globular sorts. They are useful for this purpose, even if the shape be poor when fully opened. Amazone has however, much helped by its colour, been occasionally shown success fully; but it is very loose and wanting in centre, of no value as a free bloomer or autumnal, and can by no means be reckoned among the best.
