Bordesholm/Northern Germany, June 9th, 2014. - The green spikes below the bud on the left are not part of the rose, of course; they are aphids. I never do anything against them. There are days when they come in hordes, a few days later they are all sucked out by some insect aphid-eater. There was never yet any serious damage done by them.

Planted in 2004, this beautiful and reasonably healthy rose was very damaged during the winter frost in 2010-2011 and died during also frosty winter 2011-2012. (Liège, Belgium)
