Bred by Francis Meilland (1912-1958) (France, 1947).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Wheatcroft Brothers Ltd. in 1948 as 'Tahiti'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1951 as 'Tahiti'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Yellow, amber shading, carmine-pink shading, ages to carmine-pink .  Mild to strong fragrance.  35 petals.  Average diameter 6".  Very large, full (26-40 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns.  Glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: up to 4¼' (up to 130cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
