USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Dedicated to Joséphine Marie Élise Baumann (1812-1888), daughter of Augustin Baumann and cousin and wife of Auguste-Napoléon Baumann (1804-1884). Modern Roses is in error in indicating that 'Marie Baumann' is a seedling of 'Alfed Colomb'; according to older rose literature 'Marie Baumann' was classified among the 'Alfred Colomb'-type of hybrid perpetuals. There is also no indication that Mme Alphonse Lavallée is a synonym of 'Marie Baumann'. Jäger, who in his "Rosenlexikon", sets an equal sign, has used the same to denote similarity in rose cultivars. More indicative is that he has two completely different descriptions for both.
