Bred by Moreau-Robert (France, 1881).
Introduced in Australia by C. F. Newman and Sons - Adelaide in 1894 as 'Albert la Blotais'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Dark red, violet shading.  Moderate fragrance.  Medium, full (26-40 petals), expanded , globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Climbing.  Light green foliage.  

Height: 9'10" to 16'5" (300 to 500cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Vigorous.
